The Apollo Theatre School is an exciting full time training facility providing two inspirational courses for advanced standard students.
The Apollo Theatre School recognises the need for quality training and aims to become internationally recognised as a producer of musical theatre artists, performers and dance teachers.
A unique approach of the school is to offer individually tailored timetables which cater to a range of abilities and skill levels in a variety of subjects and enables students to maximise their potential. A key focus is to support students in their performance goals, the audition process and the pursuit of professional opportunities.
The school is proud to provide purpose built facilities including fully equipped dance studios, pilates rooms, student common room & facilities, and on-site café.
The school offers two NZQA approved & accredited courses: the one year Certificate in Preparatory Dance or the two year Diploma in Musical Theatre. Subjects studied include: Classical Ballet, American Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Ballroom & Latin, Pilates, Integrated Heath & Fitness, Vocals, Speech & Drama, Repertoire, Makeup & Hair, Musicals Appreciation, Choreography, Performance, Nutrition, Audition Technique and Teacher Training.
In addition to their performance based training students are able to pursue teaching qualifications which allow them to access a variety of career paths. Students may opt to study the AJDA Jazz Teaching Certificates as part of the Diploma in Musical Theatre.
